should i order my wedding dress on my first shopping trip?
i am going shopping next week to several shops for my wedding dress – wedding is in july. if i see “the dress” should i order it there and then, or wait and have a bit of a think?

You should have a bit of a think. Perhaps they can put it away for a couple weeks so that you can make your decision? Either way, definitely go shopping a few times before you pick one cause who knows what you’ll find later!
go with pictures of your favorites. i would go to 2 -3 different bridal stores. Now if you go there and you try on a dress and feel its the one then go for it. I tried on 20 different gowns and 4 different stores until i found my dress.
Order it! If you love it enough to know it’s “the dress,” why wait???
wait and think.you have a long time till ur wedding so id just look and then get it once u think you have the dress.
Do some research before you go and then go…you will know your dislikes and your likes…and if you find the dress…then hey why wait….i found mine the day i tried it on…and i only went to one store….here it is http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3342&prodgroup=10 ….and it was the first dress i tried on….but then i tried on 7 others but i just loved this one…..it is cause i did research and look at what i like and what i disliked….i knew exactly what i wanted

I think that if you find “THE DRESS” you should go for it. You will know ” the dress” when you see her.
I went to a bridal store with my Mother on a Sunday “just to look”. It was the first store I went to after getting engaged. I brought pictures of dresses from bridal magazines that I was attracted to so that the salesperson had an idea of what I was looking for. When I arrived at the store the salesperson put me in a dressing room and started bringing me dresses based on the pictures I gave her. She brought a few dresses in during the first round and one dress really caught my eye. I knew from the moment I saw it it was the dress that was meant for me on my wedding day. It was the first dress that I tried on and I knew that there wasn’t any other dress that could take it’s place. I did try on other dresses after it that day, just to make sure. But my heart always went back to that first dress. Many brides will go through a phase of hating the dress they selected – I never felt that way. I will always love my dress, I often look at it in it’s preservation box to this day.
If you find your dress on the first day – go for it.If you know it is the dress for you and feel passionate about it there is nothing to lose! It will be one less thing for you to worry about on your journey to your special day!

From past experience…think of what you want and what you have always wanted in a wedding dress. I bought a dress on my first shopping trip and ended up taking it back not because it was my first trip but because I picked something I said I wouldnt. So I am not going to say DONT get it on your first trip, just make sure that is what you want!

You should tell yourself right now that there is no “one perfect dress.” You will try on a lot of different gowns and many of them will look good on you. This will take the pressure off yourself to find “the one.”
That being said, if you find a dress you love at the first store, I would still give it some thought before ordering it, because that’s a lot of money to spend. Look at a couple stores even if you’re sure that you’ve found the one you want – you might find something almost identical for a lower price.
Take-home message: Wedding dresses are expensive. Any time you’re spending that much money on something that can’t be returned, it’s smart to do some comparison shopping before you place an order.
