Bride & groom in the middle, maid of honour next to bride, best man next to groom, parents of bride next to maid of honour and parents of groom next to best man.

You would use the same line up as you did in church when you were in front of the minister. Normally, you wouldn’t have the parents at the head table, but if you so choose, that’s ok as it is your wedding…the parents would go on either end of the table.

There is no order anymore. Each wedding is planned differently and is unique. Usually though the bride and groom sit in the middle and on each side is the best man and the maid of honor. The easiest way to seat is like this: As they call them in the reception hall and annouce their names….have them to directly to the head table and be seated. You and your husband are called last and you sit in the middle. Easy and beautiful. Congrats on your wedding and many years of health and happiness.

Bride and groom in the center and then the maid of honor next to the bride, the best man next to the groom and then the rest of the brides maids and groomsmen flank out on their respective sides (brides maids on the bride’s side, and groomsmen on the groom’s side) in the order that they stood in the church.

The correct order is the best man next to YOU and the maid of honor next to the GROOM. I read this in an etiquette book. The reason why everyone else answered this question incorrectly is because most people put the moh next to the bride and the best man next to the groom. I also did it this way, but technically it’s incorrect. You can really do what you want, though. Normally the parents don’t sit at the head table, it’s the whole bridal party, or just the bride and groom by themselves. It’s really your day, so do what you want. I would put your parents on your side and his on his side. For me, though, I preferred to sit with my bridal party than our parents. Good luck and have fun!

There are 3 types of head tables.
    1. Is a sweet heart table- which is just the bride and groom. Best choice if you have too many people and it’s more fun for the bridal party cause they can sit with there dates!
    2. Is the long table with wedding party- you and the groom center and then it’s just boy girl next to you… start with maid of honor by the groom and best man by you. (no parents)
    3. The round table where you include the parents but most people only have a maid of honor and groomsman at.

Check Martha Steward planner book- she has a whole section on it.

But you can do anything you want! But most people don’t like being watch while they eat which is why I am going for the sweet heart table.

Well first of all the parents DO NOT sit at the head table. The head table is designed for the bride and groom and the wedding party only!!!! The bride and groom are in the middle, then the bridesmaids sit to the side of the bride, and the groomsmen sit to the side of the groom. We also included our ushers on the side of the groom. The flower girl and ring bearer sat on the ends of the table at our wedding. We had 14 at our head table.
